Create NY.gov ID

How do I create a new NY.gov ID?

Go to NY.gov ID Personal Account Self Registration. You must have a valid email address to complete the process.

What information do I need to link a NY.gov ID to my child support account(s)?

Only one NY.gov ID can be linked to your child support account(s). You will log in to NY.gov though this specific link that requires you to verify your Social Security Number (SSN). You will then need to provide the 5-digit PIN for your New York Case identifier(s). You cannot use your Voice Response System (VRS) PIN online.

What if my Social Security number doesn't work?

Contact your local district child support office or call the Child Support Helpline at 888-208-4485 (TTY: 866-875-9975), Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–7:00 PM.

What if I don't have a PIN? What if I've forgotten my PIN?

A 5-digit child support PIN is required to set up your online child support account. This PIN is automatically assigned when your child support account is opened and mailed to you in an official notice from the NYS Child Support Processing Center. You cannot reset or change this PIN.

If you don't have your 5-digit child support PIN, call the Child Support Helpline to have the PIN mailed to you: 888-208-4485 (TTY: 866-875-9975), Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–7:00 PM. (For security purposes your PIN cannot be provided to you over the phone.)

You will need to verify your identity with your full name, Social Security number (SSN), New York Case identifier(s) and your mailing address.

Call the Child Support Helpline at 888-208-4485 (TTY: 866-875-9975), Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–7:00 PM. You will need to provide your name, account number, Social Security number, and address.

If you have forgotten your PIN, call the Child Support Helpline at 888-208-4485 (TTY: 866-875-9975), Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–7:00 PM.

As long as you have the PIN for one account, you can still create or enable your NY.gov ID and access that account. You won't be able to access your other accounts until you can provide the PINs for them. Whenever you log in again, you can enter other PINs and access the accounts associated with those PINs.

What if I don't have an e-mail address?

You can get an e-mail address at no charge. Search the internet for “free e-mail account” to see a list of free e-mail services. If you have other problems or questions about logging in with your NY.gov ID, please visit the NY.gov FAQ page or call the Enterprise Help Desk at 844-891-1786.

You can also access your child support payment information through the Child Support Information Line (CSIL) at 800-846-0773, 24 hours a day, every day. You will need your Social Security number and your Personal Identification Number (PIN) that was assigned when your child support account was opened to access your payment information through the CSIL. The first time you call the CSIL using the PIN provided, you will be prompted to create a new PIN for future calls to the CSIL.
